The 2022 revision moved the bar from what 50% of children do to what about 75% or more do, so a milestone a child has not reached is worth raising sooner than the older lists implied.
Missing one does not mean something is wrong. What it is for: read those items out at the next well-child visit. This page does not diagnose, and it is not a substitute for a standardized, validated screening tool.

- Keeps fists tightly closed and cannot open them
- Cannot sit with support
This list runs the other way from CDC’s: CDC lists what a child should do, this lists what a child still does not. Any one of them being true points to further screening — not to a diagnosis.
WHO motor attainment windows
- Sitting without support: 3.8–9.2 months
- Standing with assistance: 4.8–11.4 months
- Hands-&-knees crawling: 5.2–13.5 months
- Walking with assistance: 6–13.7 months
